Testing, testing 123... {365 - Day 272}

I got a new 50mm lens last week but haven't had much time to play with it practice. Today I bought a 5 lb bag of Mandarin oranges which, let me tell you, is a lot of oranges, so I lined up a few for a photo shoot.  When I get a new lens, it helps to line up several objects like this.  That way I can easily see the depth of field and get a feel for how it changes depending on how close/far I am and how I adjust the aperture. 

Oranges are very cooperative little subjects.  They  look happy and bright and stay where you put them, that is, until your three year old wanders into the kitchen looking for a snack.
