I Heart Faces: Slice of Life

This week's challenge over at I Heart Faces is "Slice of Life" which basically means capturing a real moment as it happens messy, unplanned, and beautiful.  I took this yesterday when my little one just woke up from her nap and she was still a little sleepy, gazing outside at the rain, rain that won't go away.

Edited to Add:  I was named an "Amy & Angie's Favorite" this week!  Yay! Each week they have a guest judge who picks a top ten and then the founders also pick their favorites.  They picked my image below along with 6 others out of over 600 entries.  I am so thrilled!  Check out the winners and other favorites here

Hats.

I love all this rain washing away the pollen, but I sure do wish it didn't all come at once.  All.weekend.long.  We had to postpone Miss Georgie's 1st birthday shoot thanks to the lovely weather yesterday.  I'll be ready for you next week, birthday girl!

In the meantime, I had a chance to take some pics of  these cute newborn hats.  I am not a big "prop" kind of girl, but I saw these on Etsy and I could not resist.  Now all I need are two precious newborns to wear them in a photo shoot.  Any takers?

My daughter is obsessed with hats right now.  Everything goes on her head, bags, napkins, Mommy and Daddy size hats...she love to accessorize.  If she got her hands on these she would surely try to cram her 20 month old head into them.  Probably both at once.  So I'll be keeping them hidden away from my little fashionista.  I wonder if I can order them in toddler size...

Hello Handsome.

I spent yesterday morning at Freedom Park with going-on-4-months-old Reid and his parents.  The weather was absolutely glorious.  We had to evade angry geese and a zillion dogwalkers and daredevil kids on bikes, but it was worth it.  Is he a cutie or what?  (Click on image to view larger.)

I Heart Faces: Anything But a Face

This week's I Heart Faces photo challenge theme is "anything but a face" which makes for a lot of fun and creative images to browse through.  I have a slight obsession with taking photos of shoes, feet and hands, so I had tons to choose from, but in the end I went with this one because I just plain love this shot and I have it sitting on the shelf right above my desk.

This is my little chipmunk foraging for acorns in the backyard.  We just got back from a friend's baptism so she was all dressed up.  Not that it stopped her from digging around in the leaves.  She already has one acorn in that tight little fist and she's hunting diligently for more treasures.  Goodness do I love this little girl!

Cheers, Millie!

Yesterday I spent some time with little Miss Millie and her family.  Millie's grandparents came all the way from England just to meet her, so it was a perfect opportunity to take some photographs.  I had so much fun with this family yesterday that time just flew by.  As you can see, this baby girl is just beautiful and equally as sweet.  Click on the image to view larger.

Sleeping beauty.

Big blue eyes.

Such a pretty family!

Yes this is the cutest hat ever.

Who can resist little baby feet?

Sweet dreams.

Gazing at Daddy.

Love.

With her beaming Grandparents.

It's a family tradition to toast in honor of the new baby...

Cheers Millie!

Introducing Miss A.

Yesterday I had the honor of photographing this beautiful baby girl and her equally beautiful family.  Miss A was very alert and ready for her close-up.  Her Mom and Dad could not have been prouder and looked suspiciously well-rested for new parents...it could have something to do with two doting Aunts and a loving Grandma visiting for the week.  :-)   I still have lots of images to review but I had to stop myself to get this preview up this afternoon.  Click on the photo to see full size.  I hope you enjoy!

Isn't she gorgeous?  Such beautiful eyes.

 Baby makes three.

Such a sweet little bundle.  (P.S.  She has the cutest nursery I have ever seen!)

 Baby and friend.

 Tiny hand.

I love it when parents want a few shots just of themselves. We braved the morning chill to take a few outside.
I can't resist a picket fence.

Lots of love for this little one!

Congratulations on this perfect little blessing.

I Heart Faces: Hearts

This week's challenge over at I Heart Faces is "Hearts."  I racked my brain over the weekend trying to come up with a creative idea, then I realized I already had the perfect photo from last week's shoot. So forgive me for being redundant but I had to use this photo because I heart it so much!

Last week I did a volunteer shoot for Operation: Love Reunited which offers free photo shoots for military families going through a deployment.  This young soldier just came home from Iraq for a few weeks R&R before heading back for another six months. As soon as he arrived back in the states, he and his lovely fiancee got married!  They were heading off on their honeymoon the day after our shoot.  She wore the perfect earrings for this moment, don't you think?
