My Best Friend

Back in April my best friend Jen (since we were three!) came down from NJ for a visit with her seven year old son Colin.  Of course I jumped at the opportunity to photograph my oldest and dearest pal with her cutie pie.  I swear Jen stopped aging somewhere around the 10th grade.  She's beautiful.  And Colin is all boy.  Vintage Norman Rockwell kind of boy with grass-stained knees and a frog in his back pocket if he had the chance.  

We had a little session in our backyard and then ran over to Independence Park the next day for some fun and photographs there.  Here are a few of my favorites.

My daughter Sarah Beth LOVED Colin.  She thought he was the funniest person she's ever met.  Followed him around like a giggling shadow the whole time.  He was so sweet with her too.  It is the coolest thing to see our children playing together like we did many years ago.

Thanks Jen and Colin for coming so far to visit us.  We love you both!

I Heart Faces: Best Face from May

Fresh from a week's vacation in Charleston followed by a long Memorial Day Weekend, I thought I'd sneak in an I Heart Faces challenge photo just under the deadline...

This is from my most recent photo shoot with Sara Lauren and her little sister Sydney.  Sydney is an absolute gigglebox, and I love how this photo captures her big sister's mild annoyance at having to put up with such silliness.

Sara Lauren and Sydney

Today I spent a fun morning with two spunky girls, Sara Lauren and Sydney, and their parents Samantha and Ben at Freedom Park.  It started out a little chilly but the girls quickly warmed up and got busy exploring.  This lovely family moved here last year and this was their first visit to the "Central Park" of Charlotte.  They did a great job posing for some pictures in between adventures.  

I haven't gotten through all the images yet, but I wanted to post a preview since I'm sure I'll be busy with all the festivities my thoughtful husband and sweet daughter have planned for Mother's Day. (Right, honey?)  I wish Sam and all you wonderful mothers out there a special day filled with love and laughter.

 

3 Cuties

I had a last minute request to take some pictures on Saturday so we met up right before Mallory and Courtney's shoot and snapped off a few of  Liam and Claire and their little cousin Anna Blake.  These three were such cuties, as you can see, and so sweet!

Oh my goodness.  These girls are cute.   And their parents Niki and Brady look like J.Crew models.  So I couldn't wait to get them in front of my camera this weekend.  We have been friends for years, too, so it makes the shoot all the more fun.  I think Brady secretly wants to be a J.Crew model, actually.  He did a nice job working his best Zoolander poses, but I'll leave those shots to be released at his, or I should say Niki's discretion.  I'll stick with the pretty family shots for this preview. Mallory is a future supermodel.  She was a very enthusiastic not to mention beautiful subject.

Slight mishap required some consoling from Mommy.

Allie: Part Two

Two months ago I photographed sweet brand new Allie with her family, including two aunts and one proud Grandma.  This weekend, Allie's other Grandparents came to visit so we did another photo session including her Aunt De Ann and cousin Taylor.  She's grown so much already!  One thing is for certain, Allie has lots of family to love on her!  Here's the preview.  (Be sure to check yesterday's post of Allie the Bunny too.  That one couldn't wait!)
