Introducing Miss A.

Yesterday I had the honor of photographing this beautiful baby girl and her equally beautiful family.  Miss A was very alert and ready for her close-up.  Her Mom and Dad could not have been prouder and looked suspiciously well-rested for new parents...it could have something to do with two doting Aunts and a loving Grandma visiting for the week.  :-)   I still have lots of images to review but I had to stop myself to get this preview up this afternoon.  Click on the photo to see full size.  I hope you enjoy!

Isn't she gorgeous?  Such beautiful eyes.

 Baby makes three.

Such a sweet little bundle.  (P.S.  She has the cutest nursery I have ever seen!)

 Baby and friend.

 Tiny hand.

I love it when parents want a few shots just of themselves. We braved the morning chill to take a few outside.
I can't resist a picket fence.

Lots of love for this little one!

Congratulations on this perfect little blessing.

I Heart Faces: Hearts

This week's challenge over at I Heart Faces is "Hearts."  I racked my brain over the weekend trying to come up with a creative idea, then I realized I already had the perfect photo from last week's shoot. So forgive me for being redundant but I had to use this photo because I heart it so much!

Last week I did a volunteer shoot for Operation: Love Reunited which offers free photo shoots for military families going through a deployment.  This young soldier just came home from Iraq for a few weeks R&R before heading back for another six months. As soon as he arrived back in the states, he and his lovely fiancee got married!  They were heading off on their honeymoon the day after our shoot.  She wore the perfect earrings for this moment, don't you think?

Operation: Love Reunited Newlyweds

If you follow my blog you may know I'm a volunteer photographer for Operation: Love Reunited, an organization that offers free photo shoots for military families going through a deployment.  It's a great cause and an honor to give back to these families who sacrifice so much.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Alex and Emily.  Alex just arrived home from Iraq for a few weeks of R&R and this beautiful young couple got married as soon as he got back!  We did the shoot the day before they headed off to Disney World for their honeymoon.  It was an uncharacteristically gorgeous, warm day in Charlotte for this time of year - perfect for our shoot.  Here's the preview:

 Aren't they the cutest couple?

(I had to hide his last name on his uniform per OpLove guidelines in case you're wondering)

Love.

The obligatory "shoe" photo.

Congratulations Alex and Emily on your marriage!  Alex returns to Iraq soon for 6 more months.
I wish you a safe, quick homecoming and a lifetime of happiness together!

I Heart Faces: Innocent Wonder

The theme of this week's photo challenge on I Heart Faces is "Innocent Wonder" which immediately makes me think of my little girl who looks at the world with amazement every day.  She is the great explorer of our backyard and nothing escapes her big blue eyes.  This is one of my favorite Sarah Beth shots, showing off those beautiful eyes of hers.

Check out I Heart Faces for more wonder-ful photos....

Welcome Baby B!

I had the honor of photographing beautiful baby B yesterday.  What a great way to start off the new year!  He is the most precious little boy and his parents are beaming with pride and joy despite the lack of sleep!  Here's the preview:

 He is just beautiful.

Did I mention his 4-legged siblings?  This one is his fierce doggy protector.

White Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is gearing up for a festive New Year!  We had a lovely time in the NC mountains with Grandma and Grandpa.  The Christmas snow was just beautiful in the glow of the lights in their backyard.  We are back in Charlotte now, enjoying a leisurely week of breakfasts out, playing with new toys, and one successful trip to Ikea.  We've decided on homemade Chicken and Dumplings for our New Year's Eve dinner and maybe a red box movie.  Sounds like a crazy night, but that's how we roll.  :-)

We've had a fantastic 2010 and welcome 2011 with excitement.  Happy New Year everyone!

November Wedding

Last month I posted a photo from a wedding I had the opportunity to photograph along with my good friend Ouida.  The bride and groom first met 20 years ago as teenage lifeguards at this very lake in Hanging Rock State Park.  The setting was exquisite.  The light was breathtaking.  The trees were radiant, and so was the bride.  This lovely couple traveled a long road to find each other again.  The love between them was written all over their faces.  I was so happy I could be there to capture these moments for them.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Yes that's a PBR bottle cap tucked away in the bouquet.  And yes there's a story behind it.  But I'll leave that secret for the bride and groom to share!

New sisters!

One Happy Couple.

What a beautiful location to get married.

Checking out the ring.  The girls were impressed.

Heading down to the dock.  I could not get enough of this gorgeous light.

The emotion in this moment just makes my stomach flip-flop.  Love.
Thank you Antoinette and Jeff for allowing me to share in your day.  I wish you love, happiness, health, and many years of beautiful sunsets.
