Bench. {365 - Day 287}

We took a long walk today and ended up at the park.  It was absolutely beautiful out.  Sarah Beth hopped out of the jogging stroller to pick flowers and sit on the bench for a few moments with her Daddy, watching the ducks snooze the day away nearby. Love this.

Pumpkin Patch. {365 - Day 286}

Today Sarah Beth's playgroup met at Hodges Farm to get down and dirty with some pumpkins.  She and her pals rode out to the field in little red wagons and picked out a few pumpkins to take home with us.

After we selected our pumpkins, we visited the farm animals, ran around the hay bale maze, then spent some quality time in the bounce house.

Sarah Beth was pretty exhausted tonight and went to sleep quickly.  Maybe I should consider installing one of these suckers in our backyard. You think she'd like it?

Cruisin. {365 - Day 285}

After preschool, Sarah Beth and I headed to Earth Fare to pick up a few things.  Every grocery store has its perks:  Harris Teeter has free cookies and balloons (well, before the helium shortage), Trader Joe's has free samples, and Earth Fare has the cozy coupe shopping carts.  They also have those little kid-size shopping carts that have the big flag announcing "shopper in training" but I try to discourage those since one tiny shopping cart pushed by a 3 year old could wreak utter destruction.  Especially in the wine aisle.

SB hopped in her "ride" and drove around the store, beeping at passersby, and doing a little shopping.  I pass items for her to hold onto while we cruise the aisles, but inevitably, she grabs a few things for herself off the shelves, which I only find out about at checkout.  This time it was a box of Annie's cinnamon graham cracker bunnies. Could have been worse, I suppose.

Max Turns One! {Charlotte Children's Photography}

Sweet Max had a birthday just before we went on a beach vacation with his family.  What a perfect spot to do his one year photos! (See how much he's grown since last year.)  I don't have to tell you how cute this little guy is, but I will say he is just as happy-go-lucky as he looks.  He was toddling around a bit at the start of our week, but by the end of our stay, he was walking like a pro.  See how proud he is of himself?  His Mommy and Daddy couldn't be prouder either.

Boot Season. {365 - Day 284}

Finally.  I bought a new pair of boots months ago at a Nordstrom pre-season sale, and I've been dying to wear them ever since.  Tall leather boots, however, do not work with temperatures in the mid-80s.  So today I got to dust them off and take 'em out for a spin.

When I got home, I took off the boots and left them out in my bedroom.  My little fashionista thought she'd try out Mommy's new shoes too.  She was surprisingly adept at walking in them, given they were all the way up to her hips.  I see a future in expensive footwear for her.

Oh and yes, she's wearing a crown.  With a letter "D" stuck to it.  Doesn't everyone?

Briggs. {Charlotte Newborn Photography}

I met this sweet boy and his family on a dark and rainy day.  Good thing we were shooting inside!  Despite the gloomy weather, he was a little ray of sunshine for his pictorial debut.  Would you look at those smooch-able lips!

Tough Day at TJ's. {365 - Day 283}

And this is why I wipe down the cart before placing Sarah Beth in the seat.  Apparently, she was worn out from our Trader Joe's excursion and nearly crashed out while waiting in line.

Fortunately, she perked up at the mention of free Halloween stickers.  Trader Joe's stickers are about the best thing ever if you're a three year old.  That and rice cakes.  She insisted on getting a separate bag for her rice cakes and carrying them out herself.  Go figure.
