Samantha (and Lambie)

We had a hot Sunday morning at the park today, but Miss Samantha and her sidekick Lambie were up to the challenge.  I think she fared better than all the adults did, as Mom and Dad nearly had to drag her off the playground despite the 90 degree heat.

Here's a sneak peek.  I'd have more images to share but I got the blue screen of doom on my laptop tonight...apparently Windows 7 and McAfee do not play well together.  2 hours & one restore later, I'm back up and running and can finally load what I was working on before I was so rudely interrupted.  Hope you enjoy!

Thank you  Lisa, Scott, Samantha and Lambie for allowing me to spend some time with you today.  It was fun!

OpLove: Just one more...

I'm in the midst of photo editing fun and couldn't resist posting this one from our OpLove shoot last week of Grayson with his doting Daddy.  He is one happy boy!

OpLove: Zak, Emily, and Grayson

Just a few weeks ago, I signed up as a volunteer photographer for Operation:Love Reunited.  See my previous post to read all about it.  I got a call from Emily just a week later.  Her husband Zak is deploying soon and they have a beautiful 4 month old boy who is going to miss his Daddy.  I met this lovely family this morning for a photo shoot and wanted to share a sneak preview.

Is Grayson a cutie or what?

Thank you Emily, Zak, and Grayson for allowing me to spend time with your family this morning.  It was an honor to do this for you and I will get your albums ready and in the mail soon!

Luke: Future Football Star

I had the pleasure of shooting Luke and his parents Amy and Mark this evening.  It was 90 degrees out, but that sure didn't bother almost 7 year old Luke.  He is all boy.  Tree-climbing, rock skipping, football-throwing boy.  We packed a lot of fun and adventure into our hour-long session. Here's a peek at some of my preliminary favorites...

Operation: Love ReUnited

Our little firecracker playing in the garden

Happy 4th of July from our family to yours!  I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend with family, friends and fireworks!

I thought it would be an appropriate day to blog about Operation: Love Reunited.  This is an organization I recently joined in which volunteer photographers offer patriotic photo sessions to deploying soldiers and their families free of charge, send a free photo album to the soldier once deployed and, if possible, also photograph the reunion once the soldier returns home.  It's such a wonderful idea and I am honored to be a part of it. These families sacrifice so much for our country.  This is a way to give something back to them that may provide comfort while they are separated and they can cherish forever as a reunited family.

If you know of families anywhere across the country with a loved one being deployed, please let them know about this great organization.  To search for a participating photographer by ZIP code, visit www.oplove.org  Charlotte area families are welcome to contact me directly for more information.

Have a safe and happy holiday!
